A practice built around making things work

Ideas need
working form.

DavidEllen connects design, commercial thinking and practical delivery, drawing on more than 25 years of hands-on experience across continents and sectors — from hospitality and interiors to construction, graphic and industrial design, and venture development.

01

Design & practical delivery

Design development, interiors, lighting, technical resolution, project management and problem-solving, informed by hands-on understanding of construction, carpentry, plumbing, irrigation and sustainability.

02

Commercial problem-solving

Bring clarity to a project, an operational problem or an idea that needs a workable direction.

03

Brands & venture development

Every idea starts somewhere. Let’s talk yours through, explore what could work and find the next steps together — with practical guidance, useful contacts and help finding financial support where possible.

One working discipline

Create. Develop. Market.

01 / CREATE

Every idea has a beginning. Sometimes the purpose becomes clear along the way. Let’s talk through your need, dream or idea, explore the possibilities and work out where to begin.

02 / DEVELOP

Give the idea shape and work through what it needs to become a reality. Test what could work, resolve the practical details and bring the right people together to move it forward.

03 / MARKET

Find the people it matters to and help them understand its value. Shape the message, choose how to reach them and give customers, partners or supporters a clear way to get involved.

The person behind the practice

Experience that
connects the detail.

Simon Raath / Founder

DavidEllen is the overarching professional identity for Simon’s work across interior and technical design, hospitality, construction, brand development and business operations.

The common thread is practical involvement: understanding how an idea needs to work, resolving the detail and connecting design decisions to delivery.

That perspective also informs the ventures within the wider DavidEllen story, with Catalyst360° providing a focused route into practical commercial support.
